Blackburn’s Jason Roberts Faces Fitness Test Ahead Of Man United Clash
Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes will make a late decision on Jason Roberts for Saturday’s Premiership clash with leaders Manchester United at Ewood Park.
The 30-year-old striker has a groin injury and will have to pass a fitness test before the late kick-off.
"Jason Roberts is still troubled with a groin injury, so we are a little bit concerned about that," said Hughes on the club’s official website.
"We've got other bumps and bruises, we've got players that are not 100% but will be available for selection so we are not in bad shape in fairness considering we are four games from the end.
"There's guys that will put their hands up and say that they are fit and well and that is always good but sometimes you have to make decisions for them. We'll look at everybody as they are and I'm pleased that everybody has thrown their hat into the ring, I've got a big squad to pick from so it is just making sure we've got the right bodies in the right physical shape to go up against United.
"All in all I'm pleased with the fitness of the squad, we always pride ourselves on how we prepare the players and they've come through a long hard season, we started earlier than most playing competitive games, and we've coped well enough."
