Blackburn Rovers Striker Roque Santa Cruz Could Need A Surgery: Paraguayan FA

Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz could need a surgery for his tendonitis problem, according to Paraguay's football association (APF).

The 26-year-old Paraguayan is ruled out of Saturday's World Cup qualifier in Peru due to the setback he suffered at the weekend against Birmingham at Ewood Park.

The national team medical staff has also ruled the former Bayern Munich man out of Uruguay game next Wednesday.

"Santa Cruz was injured in the match he played for Blackburn last weekend and it is very possible that he will need surgery," said a statement from APF.
