Blackburn, Liverpool & Everton Linked With Monaco’s Nene – Tottenham In Pole Position?
Tottenham Hotspur reportedly have competition from Blackburn Rovers to land Monaco’s wantaway attacking midfielder Nene, who is also linked with Liverpool and Everton.
The 27 year-old Brazilian international is said to be on the verge of Monaco exit after the Ligue 1 side entered the talks with Juventus for perceived replacement in the form of Tiago.
Spurs boss Juande Ramos has been tracking the former Real Mallorca, Alaves and Celta Vigo man for some time now, while Rovers seek a replacement for David Bentley. The Reds and Toffees, who both are battling it out for Espanyol winger Albert Riera, are also in the frame.
Earlier this month, Nene had claimed that Tottenham and Serie A side AS Roma have both approached his current club.
Nene, who holds a Spanish passport and is a product of the same Santos team that produced Real Madrid star Robinho, had told Jornal do Brasil: “I have had contacts with representatives of those two clubs.
“They asked Monaco about my situation and about the chance of transferring me, so there is a possibility that an official offer could be made in the coming days.
“I always played very well against Sevilla and I created some goals.
“This should have left Juande with a good impression and now my name is on their list of signings.”
