Blackburn Boss Mark Hughes Confident That David Bentley Will Stay With Rovers
Blackburn Boss Mark Hughes has once again come forward to claim that midfielder David Bentley is not moving away from the club during the summer.
The Englishman, who has been previously linked to Tottenham Hotspur, is said to have once again attracted the North London side, who have reportedly placed a £15million bid for him.
Hughes insisted that he cannot control the speculation, but maintained that Bentley was still an important part of his plans for the Ewood Park side for the upcoming season.
Rovers had offered Bentley a new contract extension earlier in the season, however the player is still yet to sign on the dotted line.
Mark Hughes is however unfazed by it and is certain that his midfielder was not moving anywhere.
"The situation was, we offered a new contract to David to reward him for the exceptional season he has had," said Hughes.
"If he makes a decision not to sign it is not a problem as he has three years on his current contract.
"He stays here for the foreseeable future and we will continue to build the squad around the good players we have.
"There has been a suggestion we put a price on our players' values - we would never do that."
