Blackburn Rovers Premiership Transfer News
Barnsley have announced the capture of Dutch U-21 international striker Maceo Rigters on a season-long loan from Blackburn Rovers.
The Championship outfit are now in the process of finalising the paperwork so that the 24-year-old is available to make his Reds debut against Queens Park Rangers in the 2008-09 campaign opener on Saturday.
Barnsley boss Simon Davey is delighted to have clinched the services of the Golden Boot winner at the 2007 U-21 European Championships.
Rigters had joined Blackburn in July 2007, but his debut season in the English game was disappointing on account of injury troubles. He has made just five appearances for the Rovers.
