Barcelona For Swap Deal With Eidur Gudjohnsen Going To Manchester United In Return For Gerard Pique
Reports in Spain have claimed that Barcelona are contemplating to offer striker Eidur Gudjohnsen to Manchester United in a swap deal for defender Gerard Pique.
Gudjohnsen is reportedly surplus to Barca coach Frank Rijkaard’s requirements and as such it looks likely that the 28-year-old Iceland international could return back to the Premiership.
While Tottenham Hotspur are also linked with the former Chelsea ace, Barcelona however eye Pique, who had left the Catalan youth set up to join the Red Devils in July 2004.
The 20-year-old centre back has been impressive in his loan spell at Real Zaragoza and Barca are reportedly keen to bring him back to Nou Camp.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s United are looking to sign a striker and Gudjohnsen had been earlier mentioned as one of his targets.
Gudjohnsen, who left the Blues for Barca last summer, was a key player for the west London side as they won the back-to-back Premiership titles. He has however found first-team opportunities to be less at the La Liga giants but had earlier said he wants to stay in Spain.

Gudjohnsen has to be one of the best quality players around, and if Chelsea had him upfront with Drogba last season they would have won the Premiership.
