Australian International Brett Emerton Signs New Four-Year Contract With Blackburn Rovers
Blackburn Rovers have signed a new four-year contract with utility man Brett Emerton which will keep him at Ewood Park until 2012.
Emerton who joined Blackburn from Feyenoord in 2003 for £2.2m has made more than 200 appearances and started initially playing on the right side of midfield but can now play in any number of positions if asked by the Manager.
Blackburn Chairman John Williams told the club's website: "This is great news for the club. He's a very willing member of the squad and a real club man.
"Brett has been an excellent servant over the last five years and we are delighted to have agreed a deal that keeps him here for another four years."
Emerton who is an Australian made his international debut in February 1998 and has scored 14 goals for his country.
