Aston Villa are reportedly checking out the prospect of making a move for Liverpool winger Harry Kewell, who is also said to be interesting Tottenham Hotspur, and striker Craig Bellamy.

The Liverpool Echo has reported that Rafa Benitez’s pursuit of left winger Florent Malouda of Lyon, has attracted Villa and Spurs attention for Australian international Kewell, who has regained fitness late last season following his foot injury that kept him on the sidelines after the World Cup last summer.

The Reds have put a tag of £13m on Bellamy, who had come to Anfield for £6m from Blackburn Rovers last summer. But Kewell, who has only a year left on his contract, could be available for lesser price.

Currently on a family holiday, Benitez hopes to begin the signing spree with the expected £8m buy of Malouda before the end of this week.

Other targets on the Reds list are Cameroon striker of Barcelona Samuel Eto’o and Argentina attacker Carlos Tevez, who is looking to leave West Ham United for a big European club after spending a season at Upton Park.

AS Roma’s skilful winger Alesandro Mancini is also said to be on Benitez’s radar. The Spaniard had tried to sign the Brazilian two years ago.
