AS Roma Reject £13m Offer From Liverpool For Brazilian Winger Amantino Mancini – The Reds On Verge Of Signing Spree
Reports originating in Italy have suggested that AS Roma have turned down Liverpool’s £13m offer for Brazilian winger Amantino Mancini.
The Reds boss Rafa Benitez has been linked with the skilful 27-year-old Roma midfielder for some time.
Mancini has been with the Giallorossi outfit since 2003 and manager Luciano Spalletti is reportedly determined to hold on to his key player. He currently has a couple of years on his existing contract.
With the Liverpool owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks recently suggesting that the Merseysiders are ready to bring in new players in ‘phase two’, Benitez is expected to begin his highly-anticipated major revamp of the England’s most successful club.
Benitez’s other known reported targets are Atletico Madrid skipper Fernando Torres, Villarreal striker Diego Forlan, Lyon winger Florent Malouda and Benfica winger Simao Sabrosa. Barcelona star Samuel Eto’o and Valencia’s David Villa have also been linked with the Reds.
