Arshavin Admits Move Fears – Barcelona, Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal & Liverpool Linked
Russia star Andrei Arshavin, who is linked with Premiership top four Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool, fears his asking price might turn off the suitors from making offers to Zenit St Petersburg.
The 27-year-old classy attacker was instrumental for Guus Hiddink’s (left) side at the Euro 2008, thereby drawing attention of top continental sides. He set his sights on leaving the Russian club and termed Spanish giants Barcelona as his dream destination.
However, speculation has been rife that Zenit have doubled their asking price to £24m, thereby sparking fear in the mind of Arshavin about not getting to move as recently an English club is said to have failed with their £19m bid.
"As it turned out, maybe I did the wrong thing for myself as an individual by playing well at Euro 2008 since it has led to a rise in my market value," Arshavin told the Daily Telegraph.
