Arsenal Beat Everton To Dutch Olympic Star De Guzman
Arsenal are set to beat Premier League rivals Everton to the signature of Feyernoord midfielder Jonathan De Guzmans, according to the Mail Online.
20-year-old defensive-midfielder De Guzman has been at Feyernoord since 2005, with the young Dutchman recently starring for Holland at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Everton had reportedly also shown interest in the Canadian born player, but have lost out to the Gunners, with it understood that Dutch International De Guzman will leave the Feyernoord Stadion for the Emirates Stadium in a £12million (€14.9m) deal.
De Guzman, who only became a Dutch citizen in January revealed how a move to Arsenal or La Liga side FC Barcelona would be something he could not say no to.
De Guzman recently said: “My dream clubs are Arsenal and Barcelona. If clubs of that stature are interested in you then you cannot say no.
“I’m certainly open to interest from Arsenal and from what I hear Feyenoord are happy to hear from them as well.”
