Arsenal have lost midfielder Mathieu Flamini to a foot injury late in the first half of the Champions League quarter-finals second leg against Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday night.

The France international, who has been a key member of the Gunners side this season, was stretchered off with five minutes from half time interval.

Brazil captain, Gilberto came on as replacement with the Gunners having lost their lead and the tie balanced at 1-1 (2-2 aggregate).

Manager Arsene Wenger will be hoping that Flamini does not have a serious problem as they take on Premiership leaders Manchester United on Sunday at Old Trafford, a game the French tactician has branded as must win if they have to keep alive their title hunt.
