Arsenal’s Adebayor: Henry’s Departure Has Helped

Arsenal Premiership Player News

Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor has flourished this season and according to him, the improvement has come about with more opportunities.

The Togo international, who has scored six goals in the current Premiership campaign, also claimed that after all-time highest goal-scorer for Gunners, Thierry Henry left during the summer for Barcelona, Arsene Wenger’s side have excelled as a team.

"People are seeing the best of me this season because I play more and I have more opportunities," the former Monaco ace told skysports.com.

"My team-mates trust me more and also our game is not based on a world class striker (Henry).

"Don't get me wrong, with the talent of Titi, it was a natural thing to go through him."

With the north London club sitting at the top of the Premiership and doing as well in other competitions, the 23-year-old expressed confidence that the Gunners have it in them to go all the way.
"We are ready for the title fight, we are a very young team, however we think we can win it with style and resilience," he added.

"Against Liverpool, we dominated the whole game. We played our passing game at its best. We created a lot to win the game, however to get a draw at Anfield is a good result as United still has to go there.

"The Man Utd game was the hardest, because they are a tremendous team with pacy forwards. It was an even game, we shared the points and hopefully that point, will win us the league come May."
