Arsenal To Join Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Blackburn, Barca, Milan, Ajax & Valencia In January Race For French Prodigy?
Arsenal are the latest Premier League club reportedly tracking midfielder Sofiane Feghouli at French side Grenoble, with Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton and Blackburn Rovers along with European sides Barcelona, AC Milan, Ajax and Valencia also interested in the 18-year-old.
Feghouli has been at Grenoble since 2006 and has made 37 appearances for Ligue 1 club, with the midfield enforcer playing an integral part of Grenoble’s promotion into the top-tier of French football last season.
Some have compared the young star to legend Zinedine Zidane, but this is mainly due to Feghouli’s Algerian descent, with the young Frenchman more of a holding-midfielder that can impose himself on a game and has good technique.
Liverpool, Ajax, Chelsea, Barcelona and Valencia were all heavily linked with the talented teenager in 2007, with it believed that Feghouli was destined for a move to Anfield with the Reds. However, Feghouli remained at Grenoble, but is still a target for all the top European sides when the transfer window reopens in January.
The Gunners are understood to be the latest team to show an interest in Feghouli, with manager Arsene Wenger still needing to replace Mathieu Flamini, who left the Emirates Stadium for Serie A giants Milan in the summer.
However, valuations of the young star are hugely conflicting, with The Daily Star claiming Feghouli will be sold for £10million in January, while IMScouting.com value the midfielder at £1.4million, but with a host of clubs across Europe eager to sign the French Undedr-21 International, Feghouli’s value could rocket before January.
