Arsenal Defender Gael Clichy On Brink Of Signing New Deal With Gunners
Arsenal defender Gael Clichy has revealed he is on the verge of signing a new four-year deal with The Gunners.
22-year-old Clichy joined Arsenal from Cannes in 2003 and has forced his way into the first-team, and after playing in a few different positions, is now consistently playing at left-back since Ashley Cole´s departure to Premier League rivals Chelsea in 2006.
He has had an especially good season this year, was voted as one of the players in the PFA team of the year and was the only player to feature in every single one of Arsenal's Premier League matches this season.
The Frenchman is certain that he will be offered an extension to his contract and is determined to remain at The Emirates for the long-term.
Clichy, speaking to francefootball.fr, said: "We're at the end of our discussions.
"Everything's going well because my intention is clear, I want to stay at Arsenal."
