Arsenal Can Beat Premiership Rivals To Sign Leeds Wonderkid Delph On One Condition
Arsenal are reportedly leading the chase for Leeds United teenager Fabian Delph, who is also interesting Sunderland and Bolton Wanderers.
The England Under-19 international midfielder has been impressive for Leeds since being handed the chance by Gary McAllister. The 18-year-old’s fantastic displays in League One have also apparently attracted the attention of the Gunners’ big-four rivals and other clubs including West Brom.
Delph, who had signed a new long-term deal at the start of this season, has been highly rated and talked about enthusiastically on similar lines to winger Aaron Lennon, who came through the Leeds youth setup before moving on to Tottenham Hotspur.
As such, Leeds are keen to keep Delph at Elland Road but the £6m-rated’s long-term future may be away from the club.
According to the Mail Online, Leeds are willing to sell Delph to Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal in January as long as they loan him back for the rest of the season. Leeds are aware they will inevitably lose the player soon but want him to help them gain promotion before letting him go permanently.
