Arsenal Boss Wenger Waits On Sagna Injury
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is yet to know the full extent of the ankle problem suffered by Bacary Sagna in Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at Chelsea.
The French right-back had given the Gunners the lead, before limping out of action in the second half due to the injury. The Blues then scored twice through Didier Drogba to move above Wenger’s side into the second place in the Premiership table.
According to Wenger, that injury to Sagna and his subsequent withdrawal was one of the factors that affected the course of the game.
"I don't know how bad it (injury) is. But it was also a disturbance to lose him at such an important moment of the game."
Elaborating on the reasons for the defeat, the French tactician said on the club’s official website: "The spirit was right and the mentality was fantastic, over all the team played very well but at the moment, I feel we have some defensive problems which we need to sort out. We got caught on the long balls and the physical battle. But we were a bit unlucky because the first goal was offside and it was also a foul from Terry before that. That has a big impact in the game, and recently we have been badly done by things like that."
