Arsenal Boss Wenger On Hleb Situation

Arsenal Premiership Player News

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has ignored reports that claimed Inter Milan-target Alex Hleb is sure to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.

The 27-year-old Belarus midfielder's agent has been reported as saying that Hleb is leaving and that there is no way back.

Wenger is keen to hold the team together and is in no mood to see Hleb, who has two years left on his current deal, follow Mathieu Flamini out of north London in the summer as the latter has agreed to move to AC Milan at the end of the season.

When asked if there were any developments concerning Hleb, Wenger told Arsenal TV: "Frankly, no.

"You cannot stop people talking but at the moment there is nothing (to add).

"I believe that usually all the players want to stay and I expect this team to say 'let's make a pact together, come back next year and win'.

"That's what I expect them to do and my priority is to keep the team together, add what I think can help us to be even better, and then see from there."
