Giorgio Chiellini’s agent has disclosed that the Italy full-back is keen to move to Manchester City, but first and foremost the talks will be held with his club Juventus this week.

The 22-year-old attacking left-back, who can also play in midfield, is known to be a target for City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson, who has already signed compatriot striker Rolando Bianchi this summer.

“I will soon meet Juventus to discuss Giorgio’s future,” said Davide Lippi. “We all hope that he will soon join Manchester City.

“The problem is that in transfer negotiations there always is a club who sells and one that buys, so I cannot possibly know how this will end.

“Chiellini would be thrilled to play in the Premier League with City, but everything depends on Juventus, on the final price and on their will to let him leave or not.”

Meanwhile, the agent played down reports that Juve midfielder Manuele Blasi would also move to City. “Will Blasi’s future be at City with Chiellini? I really don’t think so,” he said.

Liverpool were earlier reportedly linked with Chiellini but the Reds then shifted their focus on Manchester United’s want-away left-back Gabriel Heinze.
