Agent Claims Arsenal & Everton Target De Guzman Unlikely To Move
Dutch International Jonathan De Guzman’s agent has ruled out a move for the midfielder to Premier League clubs Arsenal and Everton from Feyenoord.
Reports earlier on Thursday had indicated that 20-year-old De Guzman was to leave Feyenoord for the Emirates Stadium, with Everton also reportedly interested in the midfielder that starred for Holland at the recent 2008 Beijing Olympics.
However, his agent Jan de Visser has claimed his client will not join the Gunners, with him going on to reveal that any interested club would not be able to meet the Dutch clubs valuation of De Guzman.
"I don't expect a transfer of Jonathan this summer,” Visser told Sportsweek.
“The price that Feyenoord ask for him is too much for the interested clubs.
“And the closer you come to the end of the transfer window, the more expensive he will get.”
It is understood that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen to add the Dutchman to his squad after the loss of several key midfielder’s who have left the Emirates this summer.
