Wigan Agree £6million Fee With Newcastle For Wantaway Magpie
Wigan Athletic are said to have agreed a fee with Newcastle United for Charles N’Zogbia, with Ryan Taylor set to leave the Latics for their Premier League rivals as part of the deal.
Earlier this week N'Zogbia had declared that he would never play for the Magpies again, while Joe Kinnear was in charge at St James' Park after Kinnear called the veratile left-sided player Charles 'Insomnia' during an interview.
22-year-old N'Zogbia had favoured a move to Arsenal or Aston Villa, but Wigan boss Steve Bruce has moved quickly to secure the services of the French Under-21 International at the JJB Stadium.
Bruce has been active in the transfer market this month and despite losing Wilson Palacios and Emile Heskey to Tottenham Hotspur and Villa respectively, Wigan now look set to add N'Zogbia to the squad at the Latics, having already signed Mido from Middlesbrough, Ben Watson from Crystal Palace and Hugo Rodallega from Nexaca.
Wigan are understood to have agreed a fee of £6million for N'Zogbia, with 24-year-old right-back Taylor going the other way to Newcastle as part of the deal.
