19-year-old striker Arturo Lupoli has claimed he snubbed Arsenal’s offer of contract extension to give his nod to a move on a free transfer to Serie A side Fiorentina in the summer.

The Italian U-21 international, who has been in England for three years since leaving Parma and is currently on a loan spell at Championship side Derby County, has agreed a five-year contract with the Viola despite interest from giants AC Milan and their city rivals Inter.

"Arsenal offered me an important contract extension but I didn't think about it," Lupoli told Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport.

"I'm already looking for a house in Florence."

Lupoli revealed that he made up his mind to return home long time back.

"Last summer, I went with Arsenal to Austria and Arsene Wenger told me the need for me to play elsewhere on loan in order to have more playing time.

"I have adapted well to England but I have made a life choice and I couldn't say no to Fiorentina."
