Vucinic Hopes To Remain At AS Roma Despite Interest From Man Utd & Spurs
AS Roma’s Montenegro international forward Mirko Vucinic has again reiterated his desire to remain in the eternal city despite reported interest from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
The 25-year-old striker has been the source of constant interest from the premiership following some stellar displays and goals for his club side.
Vucinic signed a contract extension last month to June 2013 in a bid to affirm his commitment and quell speculation adding “The last contract I signed means that I have made my choice. Roma represents my future”.
Vucinic, who can also play on the left wing, was rumoured to have been the subject of a £22M euros bid from the Red Devils, which the Giallorossi rejected last summer.
Reports in Italy early last month indicated that the Old Trafford club had initiated informal contacted with his club side, with a £25 euro bid anticipated.
However, both the player and his agent, Alessandro Lucci have insisted that despite being flattered by the interest, Vucinic is not entertaining any thoughts of moving away from the Olympic Stadium.
His latest remarks are likely to disappoint any potential suitors as Manchester United continue their search to replace the goal contribution of Cristiano Ronaldo.
