CHAMPIONS LEAGUE HALF-TIME UPDATE: Man Utd Losing, Chelsea Goalless At Break

There are two English teams involved in the Champions League this evening, but things aren't going completely their way at the break.

Both sides have already qualified for the last sixteen of the competition, but both sides are hoping to top their groups with wins this evening.

Manchester United are currently trailing 1-0 to Turkish side Besiktas in their Champions League Group B match at Old Trafford, with Rodrigo Tello scoring the only goal of the half.

A cross-field ball from the centre circle found Rodrigo Tello just outside the right side of the United area, with Tello curling in a left-foot shot that took a crucial deflection off United defender Rafael, leaving Ben Foster diving too late, with the ball going in at the far post to make it 1-0.

United struggled to get into the game, and were lucky not to concede a second goal when, in the 41st minute, Michael Fink struck the post with his shot.

The game went into half-time 1-0 to the visitors, who deserved the lead at the break.

Meanwhile, in Chelsea's match against FC Porto at the Estadio de Dragao in Porto on Wednesday evening is currently goalless at half-time, with neither side really making any real attempts to open the scoring.

Both sides have already secured qualification for the last sixteen in the competition, but will be hoping to secure top-spot in their group with a win over their Group D rivals.

Chelsea dominated the opening stages of the half, but only with the help of Chelsea keeper Petr Cech after doing well to block a long-range Fernando Belluschi shot which forced the Czech keeper to dive at full stretch, with Cech having to recover quickly to save the follow-up shot from Silvestre Varela.

Chelsea did have chances of their own, but the combination of some decent saving from Porto keeper Antonio Beto, plus some good defending from the hosts, kept the scores level at the break.
