Chelsea Football Club was founded in 1905 and is currently owned by billionaire Russian oil tycoon Roman Abramovic. Former Brazil and Portugal head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari was named Chelsea manager on July 1 2008 but, after a stuttering start, Scolari was sacked on the 9th February 2009, and was replaced temporarily by Russia head coach Guus Hiddink, who guided Chelsea to an FA Cup win over Everton in the 2008/09 Premier League season. Former AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti agreed to join Chelsea as the club's new manager, signing a three-year contract with The Blues that starts on July 1, 2009.
